Mekaal Hasan is a Pakistani musician known for his recorded and live performances with the Mekaal Hasan Band and for his recording, audio mixing and production abilities which have seen him work with leading contemporary local and international artists.

Founded in 2001, Mekaal Hasan Band was set up to present traditional classical music in a contemporary setting. The band’s repertoire explores the spiritual longing and mystical travails of revered Sufi poets in a jazz rock-driven, harmonically complex sound. Featuring musicians of international calibre, MHB builds on Eastern classical music with prog ingenuity, led by guitar, traditional flute (bansuri), and compelling vocals. Mekaal Hasan Band is a unique international Sufi Rock band which has played major stages in India, Pakistan, Europe and North America, won praise from the American,European and Subcontinental press.
